Tater Baker’s

Oh my lanta!  I have discovered the coolest way to bake potatoes in the microwave!  They are so good and flaky.  I have made up a few bags and I think they will be great gifts for grandparents, or single loved ones.  Its so quick and easy too!  Just wash and wrap a potato, then wrap in in the wet paper towel.  Put it in the bag and cook according to your microwave directions.  For me its about 8 min. for 2 medium to large ‘taters.  BUT don't  stop with just baked ‘taters!  Cook your corn on the cob in there too!  I had some in the freezer that we had put up, in the husks.  So I put 4 ears (semi frozen still) for 10 min.  I think for 2 ears, fresh you  could do it for about 6 min.   They were delicious!  Who do you know that could use a darling, appliqued “Tater Baker’?

South Texas Christmas

Well it is getting to be that time of the year!  Where has all the time gone?  I can’t believe how fast it fly's by.  As I was looking for designs that would be perfect for either boys or girls, and something unique to South Texas, I stumbled on this one!  I love it!  I think its perfect the way it is for either gender, but you can always add a bow to the applique if you want it a little more girlie!  I have hair bows too!  OH and in the next few days I will have legwarmers to match the red/green polka dots!  I gotcha covered from head to toe!  Don’t forget a tutu if you want tu!  Enjoy!  : )T

I <3 Raggy!

This was my first attempt at raggy appliqueing and I think I am in LOVE!  How cute is this?  It was fun to do and I layered some plush fiber behind it to make it puff up even more!  This design would be darling on a T-shirt, or a burp cloth too!  I have several designs that are raggy and can be added to basically any alpha applique I have.  The sky is the limit… what do you want done?

What’s in a Name?

Ok I need some comments.  I have designed some labels for me to use on my things and I am wondering about where, and if to place them on my T’s?  Here is my newest little goodie for my oldest Granddaughter, and I added the lable to the inside of the pants and love how that looks.  But my delima is this, do I put it on the bottom right of her T too?  I think it looks cute, and is great for name recognition, but does it take away from the design?  I don’t want to do that either.  What are your thoughts? 

Here is her outfit and I am going to make a coordinating applique T to go with the ruffle pants out of matching fabric.

Southern Living Font

This font was recently in an issue of Southern Living and I was so happy when it became available in an embroidery font.  I made up these hand towels for us to show it off!  What do you think?  Wouldn’t it be pretty on an apron or table runner?  I see Christmas gifts!  :)T

I got a little Ruffled yesterday!

Well I have been seeing these darling little ruffle pants with matching T’s so I had to try one for myself.  Well not myself, but for Annie ( my oldest granddaughter, who is 4 ).  I made this for her Halloween Parties and I am so happy with the way it turned out.  Love mixing and matching fabrics and colors so this was right up my alley.  I have a couple of more to sew up for her, but wanted to show this one off.

Well for those of you who know my husband,  to say that he is not fashioned minded would be an understatement.  He is a real life American Farmer.  The hardest working, honest to the bone, man I know.  Well, now how can I let him just wear any old shirt when he is working?  I can’t!  So after getting him some new shirts yesterday, I snuck them to my monogram machine this morning and I think he will be pleasantly surprised!  So if you, or your man, needs to have some shirts monogrammed with your business name, let me know!
